Founded by Chris Carter and James Peisker in 2010, Porter Road started as a whole animal butcher shop in East Nashville, Tennessee and launched e-commerce in 2018. Carter and Peisker met as chefs in Nashville’s high-end restaurants and discovered a huge lack of transparency in food sourcing. They sought a solution and started building relationships with local farmers who have become family. Having control over the entire process, from how the animal is raised to how Porter Road processes and hand cuts the meat, has earned a reputation for incredibly delicious meat you can trust.
